A video clip showing a snatch theft in broad daylight at Bangsar Shopping Centre has been making its round on social media.
The clip was from the mall's CCTV camera and it showed the thief arriving on a motorcycle at the drive through section of the mall. The thief waited on his motorcyle beside a sedan car and pretended to look into his sling bag.
Soon after, the victim, a Japanese Housewife aged 37 was seen walking out of the mall. Just as she took her first steps onto the drive through section, the thief made his move and rode close to the victim before snatching her bag from her dragging her to the ground.
Security guards were seen trying to chase after the thief but was not successful in catching up to him before he rode off along with the rest of the traffic.
