“OutRageously PINK Nite” - Living It Up, Bangsar Cares!
Bangsar Baru shows it cares by hosting a celebration for Breast Health Awareness on Friday evening, 11 June 2004. Breast cancer survivors, supporters, friends and everyone are welcome to throng the streets of the Bangsar Baru Business District in PINK – the more creative or outrageous, the better!
Enjoy discounts at participating outlets when dressed in pink. Goody bags will be handed out to the early birds. Get a copy of The Art of Being Breast Aware if you want to participate actively in your own breast health!
OutRageously PINK Nite (OPN) is organised by the Bangsar Baru Business Council and the Malaysian Breast Cancer Council which constitutes the National Council of Women’s Organisations, National Cancer Society of Malaysia, College of Radiology, Breast Cancer Welfare Association and several others.

1st Kuala Lumpur Boys’ Brigade Company Brass Band will be performing at 8pm to herald the official launch on Friday, 11 June 2004.
The 1st KL BB Company Brass Band was runner’s up in the National Boys Brigade Band Competition in December 2003. Cpl Tan Yee Meng of the 1st KL Coy was the Best Drum Major in the same competition. The Band will be playing an exciting range of music that will be a fitting start to the OPN.
The Boys’ Brigade (BB) is the first uniformed youth organization in the world, spreading over 60 countries. Sir William Alexander Smith founded the BB in 1883, modeling it on the concept of drill and discipline. The Boy Scouts’ movement was inspired by the BB. The founder of the Boy Scouts’, Sir Baden Powell was a close friend to Sir William Alexander Smith.

 Launch of OPN
YB Dato’ Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development will grace the launch of OPN at 9pm, Telawi Street Bistro in Bangsar Baru.
YB Dato' Seri Sharizat is also the patron of the Malaysian Breast Cancer Council (MBCC) and the OPN will be the MBCC's inaugural event.

  Goody Bags
There will be distribution of goody bags after the Launch. The bags will contain information leaflets as well as some useful gifts/vouchers. However, the value of the gifts will vary from bag to bag – this will be the luck of the “draw”!
People in pink will be given priority when it comes to gift bags as it will be “while stocks last”. Watch out for the OPN volunteers! |

 The Art of Being Breast Aware – A Beginner’s Guide to Breast Health and Self Breast Checks
“When my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer, we had read many books relating to this disease, its prevention etc… But this book is different – covering aspects not covered in other books! This book (in English, Bahasa Malaysia or Mandarin) will be available during the OPN for a minimum donation of RM10 per copy. Look out for the booths in Jalan Telawi 2 and 3. The exact location of the booths will be announced soon.
