Berjaya Research Sdn Bhd head of research Kenneth Leong said investors maintained a cautious bias as persistent geopolitical uncertainties, elevated US bond yields and potential inflationary pressures could continue to cap near-term gains. “Investors should also monitor Malaysia’s upcoming Producer Price Index (PPI) data on Monday, particularly for signs of sustained cost pressures following the sharp increase in producer prices earlier this year, which could influence inflation expectations and the outlook for domestic monetary policy,” he told Bernama.
Looking ahead, Leong said investors would also keep a close watch on the final reading of the US gross domestic product (GDP) for the second quarter of 2026, as well as its latest unemployment data.
