KOTA KINABALU, Oct 9 — The 48th escort task group of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy arrived in Kota Kinabalu on Thursday morning for a five-day goodwill visit.

Representatives of the Eastern Fleet of the Royal Malaysian Navy, staff members of the Chinese embassy and consulates in Malaysia, and representatives of Chinese enterprises and overseas Chinese communities gathered at the pier to welcome the task group.

A Malaysian naval band also played welcome music as the guests arrived.
