JOHOR BAHRU, April 2 — Police have crippled a drug trafficking syndicate following two raids here on Monday and Tuesday, arresting six individuals and seizing various narcotics worth RM1.24 million.
Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the suspects — four local men, one Singaporean man, and one local woman, aged between 31 and 60 — were arrested in separate operations in Taman Megah Ria and Taman Sri Tebrau.
He said the syndicate, believed to have been active since October 2025, used a gated apartment as a storage and repackaging centre before distributing the drugs to local entertainment outlets.
“One of the suspects, a local man, is believed to be the syndicate’s coordinator, while two others were identified as suppliers,” he told reporters at the Johor police contingent headquarters today.
“The rest are identified as syndicate members.”
All six suspects have been remanded for seven days and tested positive for drug use.
The raids uncovered a significant quantity of drugs intended for the local market. Among the narcotics seized were over 8.9 kg of MDMA (ecstasy) powder, 2.4 litres of liquid MDMA, and more than 200 ecstasy pills.
Police also found 310g of ketamine powder, 52 cartridges of liquid ketamine, 174g of heroin, a 100g packet of syabu (methamphetamine), and 80 Erimin 5 pills.
In addition to the narcotics, authorities confiscated assets worth more than RM58,000 under the Dangerous Drugs (Forfeiture of Property) Act 1988, including cars, motorcycles, and cash.
