IPOH, Oct 17 — A 31-year-old motorist escaped unhurt after a tree branch fell onto his Perodua Myvi in front of the Kuala Kangsar Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) office this morning.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department received an emergency call at 8.57am, prompting seven personnel from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station to rush to the scene.
The driver had managed to get out of the vehicle before the firemen arrived.
Preliminary investigations found that a branch from a tree believed to be more than 50 years old had become brittle and fallen onto the car. No heavy rain or storm was reported at the time of the incident.
Sabarodzi said firefighters used a chainsaw to remove the fallen branch, and the operation ended at 9.20am. — Bernama
