MACHANG, Oct 17 — The remains of a Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency officer allegedly killed by her husband in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, underwent a post-mortem this morning before being transported to Tumpat, Kelantan, for burial.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the remains were being transported by road and were expected to arrive in Tumpat tonight.
He said the suspect had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for a drug-related offence.
“The victim leaves behind two children, aged five and six, who are now being cared for by her older sister,” he told a press conference after attending the launch of the Home Ministry’s 2026 Kampung Angkat Madani and Sekolah Angkat Madani initiatives here today.
The officer was found dead last Thursday at the staff quarters of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, in an incident in which she was believed to have been killed by her husband.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad reportedly said police received information about the incident at 8.30pm that day.
Meanwhile, Kampung Gosong here has received RM500,000 to upgrade public facilities and residents’ homes under the ministry’s Kampung Angkat Madani initiative.
Saifuddin said the upgrades would cover the mosque, surau, toilets, ablution areas and cemetery, alongside repairs to 14 houses.
He said the house repairs were being carried out in collaboration with Akademi Binaan Malaysia and involved 10 individuals under the supervision of the Prisons Department, as well as members of the People’s Volunteer Corps.
In a related development, Sekolah Kebangsaan Jambul Lawar received RM100,000 under the Sekolah Angkat Madani initiative to upgrade its facilities, including the ceiling, toilets, water supply, computer laboratory and guard post.
The school had also been equipped with smart boards to improve pupils’ interaction during teaching and learning sessions.
In addition, 82 villagers and 54 students received zakat assistance distributed through the corporate zakat wakalah scheme of PBLT Sdn Bhd. — Bernama
