Storm alert: Seven states plus Labuan brace for heavy rain, strong winds until 5pm

KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 — Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over seven states, as well as the entire Federal Territory of Labuan, until 5 pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said such weather conditions are expected in Perak (Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar and Batang Padang), Kelantan (Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Jerantut, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin) and Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru).

Sarawak will also be affected, involving Sarikei (Meradong), Sibu (Sibu dan Selangau), Mukah, Kapit (Song, Kapit dan Bukit Mabong), Bintulu (Tatau dan Sebauh) and Limbang, while Sabah, involving Pedalaman (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Tambunan), as well as the west coast areas. — Bernama
