KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has thanked everyone who prayed for his wellbeing and sent him birthday wishes as he turns 79 today.
The Prime Minister’s Office said Anwar’s health was improving and that he would continue undergoing physiotherapy under the supervision of a team of medical specialists.
Anwar also apologised for being unable to attend the special sitting of the Dewan Rakyat today to debate the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the management and operations of Lembaga Tabung Haji from 2014 to 2020.
“He will follow the debate closely to ensure that the institution entrusted with the affairs of Muslims continues to be safeguarded,” said Anwar’s senior press secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah in a statement today.
Anwar also prayed for the smooth conduct of the special sitting.
