KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 — Police are tracking down a man to assist investigations into an alleged assault on a restaurant customer while he was queueing for breakfast at Bandar Seri Coalfields on Friday.
Sungai Buloh district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said police received a report on the incident at about 9.20am, according to a Sinar Harian report.
He said the victim was reportedly waiting in line when he suddenly coughed once and covered his mouth with his hand.
“The suspect, a man wearing a face mask believed to be in his 50s to 60s, then punched the victim on the left jaw, pushed and slapped his face, and hurled vulgar insults,” he said in a statement on Monday.
Mohd Hafiz said investigations are ongoing to determine the motive and identify the suspect involved.
He urged the individual to come forward and cooperate by presenting himself at the Sungai Buloh district police headquarters to have his statement recorded to assist investigations.
Members of the public with information on the case are asked to contact investigating officer Sergeant Fariz Rizal Pilus at 011-15254018 or visit any nearby police station.
