Countdown to election: Negeri Sembilan MB announces formal dissolution of state assembly

SEREMBAN, June 4 — The Negeri Sembilan state assembly was officially dissolved tonight, setting in motion the state’s election cycle and ending the current administration’s term.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun confirmed the dissolution tonight around 11.20pm at his official residence in Seremban after receiving the royal assent from the Yang di‑Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir earlier in the evening at 8.30pm. 

According to Aminuddin, the assembly’s dissolution will be effective from tomorrow.

He also stated that he had followed the required regulations in accordance with state law.

Aminudin also confirmed that they would be sending an official notice to the Election Commission to begin the process for the next state polls.
