KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 — Complaints about online health advertisements and promotions that may violate regulations and mislead the public will be referred to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said the matter was among the issues raised during his meeting with representatives from medical associations and healthcare experts in Kuala Lumpur today.

“The matter will be referred to MCMC for review and further action with the relevant parties,” he said in a Facebook post.

He said the meeting was held to hear the views, suggestions and concerns raised by the representatives and medical experts.

Fahmi also expressed appreciation for the open and constructive discussions, saying insights from those directly involved were important to help understand the actual issues and find more effective solutions. — Bernama
