
BEIJING, Aug 2 — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 jolted off east coast of North Island, New Zealand at 0835 GMT (4.35pm Malaysian time) today, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said, reported Xinhua.
The epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 kilometres, was initially determined to be at a latitude of 37.82 degrees south and a longitude of 178.59 degrees east. — Bernama-Xinhua
