PUTRAJAYA May 8 — Grab Malaysia today announced its new Group Ride feature that allows multiple passengers travelling along similar routes to share a single e-hailing ride and split fares.

The rollout is backed by the Transport Ministry as part of broader efforts to encourage carpooling, reduce congestion and lower commuting costs.

The feature enables users to arrange shared rides with friends, colleagues or family members through flexible pick-up and drop-off options.

Grab said passengers can save up to 40 per cent compared to making separate bookings, while AI-powered route planning is used to improve travel efficiency.

The Group Ride feature is being rolled out progressively to eligible Grab users nationwide through the mobile application.
