ALOR SETAR, Nov 1 — Guar Chempedak state assemblyman Abdul Ghafar Saad and his son sustained minor injuries after the sports utility vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in collided with a car in Ulu Sedaka, near Yan, yesterday.

Yan deputy district police chief DSP Aikap Dunding said police received information about the accident, which happened in front of Sekolah Kebangsaan Ulu Sedaka, at 8.41am.

“In the incident, the Proton X50 they were travelling in reportedly overturned after colliding with a Perodua Myvi,” he said in a statement today.

He said the Proton X50 SUV was driven by the 32-year-old son of the Guar Chempedak assemblyman, while Abdul Ghafar was a passenger in the vehicle.

“They sustained minor injuries, as did the driver of the Perodua Myvi,” he said. — Bernama
