KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 — MetMalaysia has issued an urgent thunderstorm warning for parts of four states across peninsular Malaysia until 5pm today.
Affected districts are Kinta, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim in Perak, Raub and Bentong in Pahang, Hulu Selangor in Selangor, and Mersing and Kota Tinggi in Johor.
All areas are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy sustained rain and strong winds.
The warning is activated when MetMalaysia detects thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour that are expected to arrive within one hour.
This is classified as a short term advisory, and is only valid for a maximum of six hours from the time it is issued.
No warnings have been issued for any other state at the time of writing.
