PUTRAJAYA, May 14 — The Kuala Lumpur Tower (Menara KL) will be illuminated in blue on May 18 in conjunction with International Museum Day 2026, which is observed worldwide.
The Ministry of National Unity (KPN), in a statement today, said the initiative would be implemented in collaboration with LSH Service Master Sdn Bhd, the operator of Menara KL.
It added that this year’s International Museum Day is celebrated under the theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World”.
“This theme emphasises the role of museums as an important medium in fostering understanding, strengthening unity and bridging cultural and social divides in an increasingly challenging global society,” according to the statement.
The ministry said the blue lighting symbolises support for efforts to empower museums as institutions of knowledge, heritage and education.
The statement said that, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia Madani, KPN is committed to continuing efforts to strengthen the country’s heritage and museology sector so that it remains relevant, inclusive and close to the younger generation through educational, technological and community engagement approaches.
