KOTA KINABALU, Sept 17 — The runway at Kota Kinabalu International Airport has been temporarily closed to facilitate rectification works, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said today.

In a notice on Facebook, MAHB said a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) had been issued over the temporary closure.

“The runway will reopen once the necessary safety inspections and clearing works have been completed,” it said.

Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight status and updates.

MAHB did not provide details on the nature of the rectification works or how long the runway would remain closed.
