KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 7 — The Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) yesterday launched its Ethics, Transparency, Integrity and Anti-Corruption Strategy (SETIA) 2026-2030 to strengthen good governance practices and ensure the sustainability of the retirement funds of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel.

LTAT said the launch of the five-year strategic plan followed its successful completion of all 30 initiatives under the 2022-2026 Organisational Anti-Corruption Plan (OACP), representing a 100 per cent achievement rate.

According to LTAT, SETIA marks the next phase in its ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional integrity, enhance accountability and foster ethical practices across all aspects of its operations and investment decisions.

“As an institution entrusted with managing the retirement savings of MAF personnel, LTAT believes that integrity and good governance are essential foundations for protecting contributors’ interests, while ensuring that every responsibility is carried out with full transparency,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The launch ceremony, held in conjunction with the 2026 International Anti-Corruption Day celebrations, was attended by LTAT Chairman Gen (Rtd) Tan Sri Azizan Ariffin, LTAT Chief Executive Datuk Mohammad Ashraf Md Radzi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Treasury and LTAT Integrity Committee Chairman Datuk Shahrazat Ahmad, and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Community Education Division director Datuk Hairuzam Mohmad Amin @ Hamim.

The SETIA implementation framework comprises five strategic pillars and 25 initiatives specifically designed to strengthen corruption risk management, enhance transparency and reinforce accountability at all levels of the organisation over the long term.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ashraf, in his keynote address, said every investment decision, expenditure and management action must be firmly guided by the principles of integrity, accountability and professionalism.

“The trust placed in LTAT by MAF personnel is a tremendous responsibility, as we are entrusted with protecting their interests and the future that has been placed in our care,” he said.

He acknowledged that LTAT had faced various challenges in the past, some of which had tested public confidence in the institution’s governance, but said these experiences had served as valuable lessons to prevent a recurrence.

“We cannot change the past, but we can and must ensure that the past does not determine the direction of our future. LTAT will not compromise on any misconduct, abuse of power or breach of ethical standards,” he said. — Bernama
