SHAH ALAM, Nov 7 — The Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) is targeting 42,000 men to benefit from government-provided well-being services for men, as part of efforts to raise awareness of the importance of healthcare among them.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the initiative also encouraged men to seek relevant health information and services with their partners, particularly when making decisions about family health.

“I urge men to seek relevant information and services together with their partners when making decisions about family health,” she said at the Selangor International Trade Centre (SITC) here today.

She was speaking at the November National Family Month 2026 celebration, which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by his wife, Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Deputy Women, Family and Community Development Minister Lim Hui Ying, and Selangor State Executive Councillor for Women and Community Welfare Anfaal Saari.

Nancy said the government had allocated RM4.355 billion to KPWKM under Budget 2027, an increase of RM168 million from the previous year.

Of this amount, almost RM3.3 billion was allocated for welfare assistance to strengthen the social safety net and the well-being of those in need.

She said couples facing fertility challenges could also benefit from the Fertility Treatment Assistance and Infertility Advocacy Programme (BuAI), run by the National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN), which aims to help 2,000 eligible couples receive treatment assistance.

In 2025, a total of 82,679 individuals benefited from the programme, while 1,658 Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) treatment cycles were carried out, resulting in 184 recorded pregnancies.

She said the achievement demonstrated the importance of early detection of fertility problems and access to treatment by qualified specialists. — Bernama
