BAU, Aug 24 — A 40-year-old man sustained injuries to his face and wrist after a dispute over noise-making escalated into a violent attack in front of a house at Kampung Serikin near here last Saturday.
Bau District police chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the incident took place at around 1pm, when the complainant became involved in a heated argument with the suspect.
“The confrontation arose from his growing frustration over the suspect’s persistent noise-making in the area.
“What began as a verbal exchange quickly turned physical when the suspect brandished a knife that had been tucked into the back of his waistband and swung the blade towards the victim, hitting his left cheek.
“The victim also sustained a minor laceration to his left wrist while attempting to block the knife during the assault,” he said in a statement.
Mohd Haide said the suspect had been identified and the knife had been seized.
The case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt using dangerous weapons or means. — The Borneo Post
