KUALA LUMPUR, July 30 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said a special parliamentary sitting to debate the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) will be held on Aug 11.

He said the matter had been discussed with Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul.

“The report will be tabled in Parliament on Aug 11 at 10 am, and the sitting will continue until the afternoon,” he told reporters after officiating the opening of Maybank’s new headquarters at Menara Merdeka Maybank here today.

The RCI report, released on Wednesday night, recommended a forensic audit into past investment decisions that led to a severe deterioration in TH’s asset value.

The report, which investigated the management and operations of TH between 2014 and 2020, identified several problematic investments that warrant forensic examination.

The commission also found evidence of suspicious transactions and the concealment of information.

Earlier, Anwar officiated the opening of Maybank’s new headquarters, marking a milestone in the group’s 66-year history and its continued evolution as a leading regional financial services group. — Bernama
