Police detain eight over suspected murder of man at Kuala Langat oil palm plantation

KUALA LANGAT, Aug 11 — Police are investigating the death of a man believed to have been murdered at an oil palm plantation in Sungai Kelambu, Banting here last Sunday.

Kuala Langat District Police chief Supt Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, in a statement, said eight individuals had been arrested to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

“At about 5 pm on Aug 9, a policeman on duty reported that a 49-year-old local man was found unconscious at an oil palm plantation,” he said in a statement today.

Akmalrizal also urged members of the public with information to go to the nearest police station or contact the Kuala Langat District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 03-3187 2222.

Meanwhile, all the suspects, including foreigners aged between 20 and 60, have been remanded for seven days to assist investigations following a remand order issued by Magistrate Maslinda Selamat. — Bernama
