KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 — A note left by a 48-year-old company director who killed his 47-year-old wife, a housewife, and their two children before taking his own life at a residential unit in Desa ParkCity here allegedly cited RM260,000 in losses and debts linked to his wife’s continued contact with a love scammer, police said today.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus said the man had expressed regret in the note over his wife’s alleged involvement with a love scammer, which he claimed had left him saddled with losses and debts amounting to RM260,000.
“In the note, the suspect reportedly said he was distressed that his 47-year-old wife continued trying to contact the scammer despite the financial losses.
“The suspect later described the situation as having gone too far and saying he felt ashamed in front of their children,” Fadil said in a statement here.
Fadil said a knife and a pair of gloves believed to have been used in the killings were found inside a drawer in the main bedroom.
He said a post-mortem examination on the nine-year-old girl was completed at about noon after beginning at 9am.
“A five-centimetre stab wound was found on the deceased’s neck,” he said, adding that post-mortem examinations on the girl’s mother and seven-year-old brother were expected to be conducted later today.
As for the suspect, Fadil said his post-mortem examination was expected to be conducted tomorrow after the Kuala Lumpur Hospital forensic team visits the scene in the morning.
Authorities were alerted at 3.32pm yesterday to a report of a man believed to have fallen from a residential building near Persiaran Residen.
Police subsequently went to the residential unit and, with the assistance of the Fire and Rescue Department, opened the door and found three people dead in separate rooms.
Preliminary checks found that all three victims had sustained severe injuries to their necks.
