KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — Police will submit the investigation papers on Selangor delegate Datuk Noorazli Said’s speech at the 2026 Umno General Assembly on Sunday to the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) today.

Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department director Datuk M Kumar said the case is classified under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

According to him, police received 86 reports and recorded statements from 93 witnesses, including members of the public, organisers, Umno delegates and Noorazli.

“The public are advised not to speculate in ways that could disrupt the investigation or misuse network facilities or services to spread information that has not been verified,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said all parties must work together to keep the digital space safe while fostering a mature and respectful communication culture for social wellbeing and national stability.

The speech sparked controversy after Noorazli made a comment reportedly involving a Catholic priest and a nun. — Bernama
