PUTRAJAYA, Aug 30 — Members of the public planning to attend the 2026 National Day celebration at Dataran Putrajaya, here, tomorrow, are advised to plan their journey and arrive early, following the closure of several major roads around the government administrative centre.
Based on an infographic posted on the Merdeka360 Facebook page, the closures involve Putrajaya’s Core Island and several roads, from 5 am today until 6 pm tomorrow, to facilitate traffic flow in conjunction with the celebration.
The closures involve Seri Wawasan bridge, Seri Saujana bridge, Seri Gemilang bridge, Putra bridge and Seri Ehsan bridge, while Seri Bestari bridge and Seri Setia bridge will remain open.
Several other routes are also expected to be affected, including Lebuh Bestari, Lebuh Setia, Lebuh Saujana, Lebuh Gemilang, Lebuh Wawasan, Lebuh Sentosa, Jalan Tun Hussein, Persiaran Barat and Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
“Members of the public are also encouraged to use the free shuttle bus services and obtain the latest information through the Putrajaya Corporation’s social media channels,” the infographic stated.
Meanwhile, in a video shared on the same platform, visitors were advised to prepare for hot weather by bringing an adequate supply of mineral water, sunglasses, umbrellas and hats, as well as face masks.
The 69th National Day celebration, themed ‘Malaysia Madani: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati’, is scheduled to begin at 8 am, with more than 80,000 visitors expected to attend the historic celebration. — Bernama
