PUTRAJAYA, Sept 16 — Efforts to strengthen the fight against corruption were among the matters discussed by Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman.

The MACC said the matter was discussed when Tengku Amir Shah granted an audience to Abd Halim at Istana Selangor, Bukit Kiara, last Monday.

In a statement today, the commission said Tengku Amir Shah was also briefed on its latest developments and ongoing initiatives, particularly those relating to anti-corruption efforts in Selangor.

Abd Halim expressed his appreciation to Tengku Amir Shah for granting the audience and taking the time to receive a briefing on the MACC’s role and latest developments.

“He (Abd Halim) also expressed his gratitude for the Raja Muda of Selangor’s support and concern for ongoing efforts to combat corruption and uphold transparent, principled and accountable governance,” the statement read.

The audience was held as part of Abd Halim’s official engagements following his appointment as MACC Chief Commissioner last May 13. — Bernama
