Rapid KL confirms sexual harassment allegation on Sri Rampai-Setiawangsa train

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 11 — Rapid KL has confirmed receiving information about an alleged sexual harassment incident involving a female passenger on the Kelana Jaya Line this morning.

According to Kosmo! Online, Rapid KL said that the incident occurred while the train was travelling from Sri Rampai station to Setiawangsa station.

Its auxiliary police team subsequently assisted both individuals involved and escorted them to the Setiawangsa police station to lodge a report.

“Rapid KL Auxiliary Police provided assistance and escorted both individuals to the Setiawangsa Police Station to lodge a police report,” it said.

Rapid KL said the case had since been handed over to police for further investigation.

The incident earlier went viral on social media after a commotion broke out on a train, with a woman allegedly screaming before several passengers were seen restraining a man.

The incident was believed to have occurred at about 8.30am when the train was near the Setiawangsa LRT station.

Several social media users who claimed to have been at the scene also alleged that the woman had accused the man of touching her while travelling from Sri Rampai towards Setiawangsa.
