KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has remanded 73 individuals, comprising agents and company owners, on suspicion of falsifying Daya Kerjaya 2.0 incentive claims worth about RM9 million.

According to an MACC source, all the suspects, comprising 48 men and 25 women aged between their 20s and 70s, were detained on Tuesday afternoon and night at MACC offices nationwide, except in Perlis.

“Initial investigations found that all the suspects are believed to have committed the acts between 2024 and 2025.

“All the suspects are believed to have submitted false claims involving government wage assistance of RM1,500 per month for six months for each employee hired by private-sector employers and government-linked companies (GLCs),” the source said.

On June 9, 2026, MACC, through its Intelligence Division, Investigation Division and state MACC offices, carried out an integrated operation in cooperation with the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

During the operation, searches were conducted at 90 locations involving company premises, and 83 individuals were detained, comprising six agents and 77 company owners.

Intelligence gathered since November last year had targeted 143 company premises nationwide and 320 individuals linked to the claims.

The source said MACC also recorded 104 statements during the operation, involving 32 persons under investigation and 72 witnesses.

“Through this operation, MACC also froze 25 company bank accounts containing about RM390,000,” the source said.

Meanwhile, MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman, when contacted, confirmed the arrests and said the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

He added that investigations are ongoing and updates will be provided from time to time.
