
KUCHING, June 5 — A nine-year-old boy reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at a resort in Sematan on Wednesday.
See Hua Daily News reported that Civil Defence Force personnel arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the report at 5.38pm and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the boy.
However, the child was later pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts to revive him.
Lundu district police chief Supt Sudirman Kram, when contacted, confirmed the incident.
Police are investigating the case as sudden death and are also probing it under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 to determine whether there was any negligence in guardianship or issues related to the management of the premises. — The Borneo Post
