IPOH, Sept 9 — Eleven individuals, including six civil servants and five agents, have been remanded for six days to assist investigations into the alleged submission of falsified documents to facilitate illegal vehicle ownership transfers involving 16 registration numbers.
Magistrate Norizan Riduan allowed the remand application, which runs from today until Sept 14, at the Magistrate’s Court here today.
The suspects, comprising seven men and four women, arrived at the court at about 9.15am.
According to a source, the Perak Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained them at about 10pm yesterday when they went to the MACC Perak office to give statements.
“Initial investigations found that the alleged offence took place in 2025, with the agents suspected of conspiring with civil servants to submit falsified documents to enable vehicle ownership transfers to be carried out illegally,” the source said.
The documents were submitted to the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in connection with the ownership transfer process. — Bernama
