Sultan Ibrahim receives report on mosque projects in Johor Bahru, Kluang, Mersing and Kulai

JOHOR BAHRU, May 13 — His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, has received a report on the construction of five new mosques in Johor from state mufti Datuk Yahya Ahmad.

According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar’s Facebook page, the construction of the new mosques involves two in Johor Bahru and one each in Kluang, Mersing and Kulai.

“The construction funding comes from the federal government, the Johor state government and public contributions,” the post said.

The audience with His Majesty, who is also the Sultan of Johor, took place at Istana Pasir Pelangi here today. 

Also present were Johor Islamic Religious Department director Datuk Nasri Md Ali and Johor Islamic Religious Council chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Radzi Mohd Amin.

According to another post, His Majesty also granted an audience to Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and State Secretary Datuk Mohammed Ridha Abd Kadir at the same palace. 

Also present was state Lands and Mines director Datuk Mohammed Shakib Ali. — Bernama
