DUNGUN, Sept 20 — A technician was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car that lost control at Kilometre 70 of Jalan Jerangau-Jabor near Bukit Besi here this morning.
Dungun police chief Supt Nik Ab Halim Nik Mat said the 7.30 am incident involved Mohd Yusop Abu Bakar, 34, who worked at a factory in Bukit Besi and was riding a Honda AFS110 motorcycle from Dungun towards Jerangau.
“Initial investigations found that upon reaching the location, a Perodua Myvi driven by a 42-year-old man is believed to have lost control, skidded into the opposite lane and collided with the front of the victim’s motorcycle.
“The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene,” he said in a statement today.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act 1987, with further investigations ongoing to determine the actual cause of the accident. — Bernama
