KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh has given her assurance that residents of Setiawangsa will continue to receive full attention and support, following the announcement by YB Nik Nazmi to vacate his parliamentary seat.
Yeoh, who is also the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), thanked Nik Nazmi for his service to Kuala Lumpur residents during his tenure and moved quickly to allay any concerns over a potential service vacuum in the constituency.
“I wish to assure the residents of Setiawangsa that services under the Department of Federal Territories will continue without disruption,” she said in a media statement today.
To ensure local issues are promptly addressed, Yeoh revealed that she has directed the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri TPr Fadlun Mak Ujud, to bolster the DBKL Setiawangsa Branch Office. The minister has requested additional manpower to be allocated to the branch during this period to step up efforts and ensure continued responsiveness to residents’ concerns.
Residents experiencing issues or requiring assistance can continue to reach out to the DBKL Setiawangsa Branch Office via walk-in, phone, or email. The office is located at D’Wangsa, 1, Jalan Wangsa Delima 13, Wangsa Maju, 53300 Kuala Lumpur, and operates from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Friday. They can also be contacted at 03-4142 2740 or via email at pcsw.dbkl@gmail.com.
Beyond municipal services, Yeoh also pledged her commitment to the environmental preservation of the area, specifically Bukit Dinding.
“I will also work with all stakeholders to continue efforts to save and preserve Bukit Dinding so that it remains a green jewel of Kuala Lumpur for the people,” she added.
Nik Nazmi announced his decision to vacate the Setiawangsa seat yesterday, prompting the Federal Territories Ministry to activate measures to ensure that grassroots services and local governance remain unaffected for the constituents.
