Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds forecast in seven states and KL until 9pm

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in seven states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur until 9pm today.

In a statement, MetMalaysia said other areas affected are in Kedah (Kulim, Bandar Baharu, Baling and Sik) and Perak (Hulu Perak, Selama and Muallim).

The same warning has been issued for Tumpat, Kota Bharu, Bachok and Pasir Puteh in Kelantan, while in Terengganu, the areas involved are Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Nerus, Setiu and Besut.

In Pahang, the affected areas are Cameron Highlands, Lipis and Jerantut, while in Selangor, they are Hulu Selangor and Gombak.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the areas involved are Sibu, Sarikei, Betong, Mukah and Kapit (Song). — Bernama
