SEPANG, June 13 — Timor- Leste President Jose Ramos-Horta arrived in Malaysia today for a five-day special visit.
Ramos-Horta and his delegation arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 at 11.12 am on a commercial flight. Upon arrival, he received a static guard of honour mounted by the First Battalion Royal Ranger Regiment, commanded by Captain Luqman Hakim Abd Khar, at the Bunga Raya Complex (BRC).
Also present to welcome the President were Wisma Putra Chief of Protocol Ikram Mohd Ibrahim and Chief of Ceremony of the Ceremonial and International Conference Secretariat Division Datuk Rozainor Ramli.
On Monday, Ramos-Horta is scheduled to attend a dialogue session titled ‘A Changing World, Enduring Values’ at Taylor’s University.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will host a luncheon in his honour at the Seri Perdana Complex on Tuesday.
The President will also attend a book launch ceremony and deliver a distinguished lecture at an event organised by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations (IDFR).
Ramos-Horta is scheduled to depart for Dili on June 17. — Bernama
