SIBU, Nov 7 — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac) is prepared to consider collaborating with and providing assistance to organisers of international events in Malaysia, particularly those facing financial constraints.

Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said the move was aimed at encouraging more international events to be held in the country while attracting greater participation from overseas.

“This is in line with the ministry’s aim to strengthen Malaysia’s presence on the international stage by hosting events that attract participants from various countries,” he told reporters at the International Archery Coaching and Wellness Forum and Workshop 2026 here today.

He said such events could also attract more visitors and serve as a platform for local and international participants to share knowledge, experiences and skills.

“We hope next year’s forum and coaching workshop can be expanded to involve more participating countries,” he said.

Tiong said the ministry would also explore possible forms of collaboration and assistance to help organisers address their financial challenges. — Bernama
