KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — A total of 23 deaths were recorded in 1,225 road accidents nationwide on Hari Raya Aidiladha yesterday.
The Royal Malaysia Police’s Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said the number of accidents fell by 646 cases from the 1,871 recorded the previous day.
“However, the death toll rose by eight compared with the 15 fatalities recorded on Monday,” JSPT said in a Facebook post today.
The public has meanwhile been reminded to continue obeying traffic regulations and practise cautious driving throughout the festive season to avoid accidents.
