
PUTRAJAYA, May 12 — The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirms an accident had occurred involving a Diamond Aircraft model DA-40 bearing registration number 9M-HMJ on a training flight, in Langkawi today.
It said the aircraft conducted an emergency landing in the vicinity of Kuah.
“The aircraft departed Langkawi International Airport at 9.54am for a scheduled training flight, and the last communication with Air Traffic Control Tower Langkawi was recorded at 10.29am,” it said in a statement.
CAAM said that there were two persons on board, including the pilot, and both are reported safe.
An investigation into the accident will be carried out by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Transport, in accordance with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016. — Bernama
