WHO chief arrives in Spain ahead of passenger disembarkation from hantavirus cruise ship

GENEVA, May ‌9 — The head of the World Health Organisation ‌arrived in Spain today where he will join senior government officials in Tenerife to oversee the safe disembarkation of passengers on board ‌the cruise ship ⁠where an outbreak ⁠of ⁠Hantavirus started.

WHO Director ⁠General, ⁠Tedros Adhanom Ghebrey said on X ⁠that he was in contact with the ship’s captain and a WHO colleague who ⁠is on board who said that, at ⁠this stage, there are ⁠no additional ⁠people on board showing symptoms of ‌Hantavirus. — Reuters
