Alam Flora regrets impact, pledges safety focus as Pantai Hillpark lorry crash probe continues

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — Alam Flora has pledged its full cooperation with authorities in the probe into a crash involving one of its compactor garbage lorries along Jalan Pantai Murni 1, Pantai Hillpark, yesterday.

In a statement today, Alam Flora informed that the vehicle will be sent for inspection to identify the exact cause of the incident, in line with instructions from the investigating officer.

The company emphasised that the safety and well-being of its workers, contractorsand the public remain its top priority.

“This matter is being treated with the utmost seriousness, and any necessary follow-up actions will be taken based on the investigation’s findings.

“We deeply regret the impact this incident has had on the affected community and remain committed to ensuring high safety standards in all our operational activities,” the statement read.

In the early-morning incident yesterday, a garbage lorry is believed to have experienced a brake failure before losing control and crashing into the perimeter wall of a condominium.

The lorry driver has lodged a report withthe Kuala Lumpur Traffic Police Station, and a breathalyser by the police confirmed that he was not under the influence of alcohol.

The compactor lorry will be sent to the Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre (Puspakom) for examination, and the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
