Perak police probe sexual harassment allegations against PKNPk CEO

IPOH, Aug 13 — Perak police have opened an investigation into alleged slander involving sexual harassment claims against Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) chief executive officer Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak, following a report lodged by the corporation.

State police chief commissioner Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin said the investigation was initiated based on the police report lodged by PKNPk over the matter, which had been circulated on social media.

“Police have opened an investigation under Section 507A of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

“The investigation is still ongoing,” he told a press conference at the Perak Police Headquarters here.

Mohd Alwi said police had yet to receive any report from the alleged sexual harassment victim.

He also said police were also awaiting a response from the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) regarding the TikTok account linked to the allegations.

“Further investigations would be conducted once police received the information from MCMC,” he added.

Mohd Alwi also said no witnesses had been called to have their statements recorded so far, as police were still trying to identify the owner of the TikTok account.

Yesterday, PKNPk, in a statement, said reports were lodged with the police and MCMC over the dissemination of various allegations against the corporation, its management and certain individuals linked to the organisation.

PKNPk said it was aware of several posts by a Facebook page that had recently been publishing various serious allegations against PKNPk and its management.
