KUCHING, Aug 7 — Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh and Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud sampled a taste of Kuching’s culinary scene on Friday morning as part of their visit to the city.

The two, who arrived in Kuching for a series of engagements, began the day with a visit to Kuching South Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng.

Wee later accompanied them to the Borneo Culinary World Cup (BCWC) 2026 at Chung Hua Primary School No. 3, where they spent the morning touring the competition venue.

Yeoh and Fadlun stopped at several competition areas to watch participants at work and take a closer look at the culinary creations on display.

They also observed the exchange of techniques and ideas among local and international culinary professionals taking part in the event.

The visit offered the two guests a glimpse into Kuching’s growing gastronomy scene before they continued with other engagements in the city later in the day. — The Borneo Post
