KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — Commuters on the Kelana Jaya LRT line faced significant delays this morning after a train became immobilised at Kelana Jaya Station due to a component malfunction, disrupting services during peak travel hours.

The breakdown, which occurred at one of the busiest stations along the line, has forced Rapid KL to implement crowd control measures at several affected stations as repair crews work to resolve the issue.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, Rapid KL confirmed the disruption:

“Train services are experiencing delays due to a train unable to move because of a component issue at Kelana Jaya Station. Repair works are currently in progress.”

Measures are being put in place, including “entry control and passenger flow management” at affected stations.

“Passengers are advised to use alternative rail lines to reach their destinations, such as the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line, Kajang Line, Putrajaya Line, and Monorail Line,” Rapid KL stated.

Commuters have been advised to expect longer waiting times and congested platforms as entry restrictions remain in place at stations along the affected stretch. Rapid KL has not provided an estimated time for full service recovery.
