Thunderstorms, heavy rain forecast in parts of eight states until 6pm

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in parts of eight states, with the weather expected to persist until 6pm today, according to Bernama.

The national news agency reported that the warning covers Kota Setar, Yan, Pendang, Kuala Muda and Sik in Kedah; Manjung and Perak Tengah in Perak; and Kemaman in Terengganu.

The same warning has also been issued for Kuantan in Pahang, Hulu Langat in Selangor, and Jelebu and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan.

In Sarawak, the affected areas are Sibu in Sarikei division, and Tanjung Manis and Daro in Mukah division.

In Sabah, the warning covers Keningau and Tambunan in the Interior division, Papar and Penampang on the West Coast, and Kinabatangan in the Sandakan division.
