
KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has expressed his condolences to the family of former journalist and media officer at the Umno President’s Office Datuk Jailani Harun, who died today.
The Umno president said he had visited Jailani at Serdang Hospital early this morning and described him as a kind, humble and well-respected individual.
“My heart ached when I saw his condition then. I was still hoping for a miracle, but Allah SWT loved him more.
“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire family of the late Jailani. May they be granted strength and fortitude in bearing the loss of their beloved family member,” he said in a Facebook post.
Ahmad Zahid also prayed that Allah would forgive the late Jailani’s sins, bestow His mercy upon him and place him among His faithful and righteous servants.
Jailani died at 11.34am at Serdang Hospital. He was 66.
He will be buried at the Alam Damai Muslim cemetery in Cheras after asar prayers. — Bernama
